It’s all about the mindset!

Keenyah the entrepreneur

I went to Waterstones bookstore Piccadilly London yesterday to talk about possibilities with a friend. The 5th floor has a wonderful view of the city but I must admit there was something missing, bring back Borders Bookstore I miss you! I remember meeting some very interesting people, one who immediately springs to mind is an American woman who was reading a novel. She would come back every day to read on from where she left off the day before. I guess that might have been part of the reason why Borders closed down, you could read and take … [Read more...]

Reflection, Reflection, now let’s play!

Keenyah the entrepreneur

I had a day of reflection (seem to be having a lot of those lately) and conversation (and not all of that was me by myself) can't quite work out whether this is progress or just another reason to stay where I am. The life of a Divapreneur can be a lonely one left alone with thoughts, papers, computer and other technical gadgets but you need some human intervention every now and then to remind you of what's real. Interestingly I came across a programme that explored the meaning of reality. Did you know that "the quest to explain the true … [Read more...]

The Power of Intention

happy-new-year-2011

The beginning of a New Year reminds me of that moment after the snow has fallen when in spite of the challenge the weather brings you can actually appreciate the beauty of the snow and it's accompanying cast members – trees, leaves, rooftops, garden ornaments, cars et al all covered in their own blanket of white. A picturesque scene that is a photographers delight and then it's all transformed in the twinkling of an eye when we walk in it and it begins to thaw. Like those first settings of snow, the New Year and all its excitement turns … [Read more...]

A Divalicious Butterfly

A Butterfly Moment

This was sent to my mailing list as a Divalicious Moment but it was too good (if I say so myself) not to share (click here to join our mailing list and get your own Divalicious Moment). It started simply as a Christmas message but a dramatic turn of events interrupted that and the inspiration is courtesy of the power of thought and a pair of scissors. I have been growing my locs for five years and I really love the way my hair moves, being able to walk through the streets of Jamaica to the sounds of people calling my name ‘Empress’, to … [Read more...]

Happy Thanksgiving

Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving

Sometimes the Americans really do get it right, today is Thanksgiving, a day where people in America and across the globe (mainly Americans) give thanks for their lives and the people that are in it. Whilst I have no American heritage and I am living many miles away, I am close to the sentiment of today and wonder why nations across the globe have not yet adopted this as their holiday. I am convinced that taking time out to stop and count your blessings is a positive contribution to your life and to the life of those around you. Imagine … [Read more...]

Being alone is actually okay!

aloneinthesun

As I sat alone at my desk, alone in my house and away from the phone I was beginning to mourn the loss of human interaction. In search of Divine inspiration I was feeling the pressures of being alone and then by chance I came across a video recommended by a friend (I guess I am not really alone) that challenged my thoughts on what being alone actually means. Whilst there are clearly challenges of loneliness being alone means or can mean so much more. In the words of Tanya Davis “it’s fine to be alone when you embrace it.” Check out … [Read more...]

The Inspiration Circle

Inspiration Circle

I recently discovered The Inspiration Circle©. I don't know who else has been privileged to see it but I am choosing to claim it as my own discovery. I know that we have all in some way or another been touched by it but I am choosing to make it formal, give it a name and take ownership. There is something important about taking ownership of something, a sense of power and sometimes even control. In the realm of inspiration I am not claiming any kind of control of it but I am giving myself kudos for starting a little something in my neck of the … [Read more...]

What’s holding you back?

Bad habits vs Good habits

I came across an article recently from Match.com (I was just browsing honest!) entitled 'Women 10 habits that are keeping you single' which of course got me thinking and not just because I happen to be a woman who happens to be single, but more so about the many habits we are all supporting on a daily basis which is the real truth behind aborted and unfulfilled dreams. Sometimes our blockages and barriers to success are carefully hand-crafted internal structures and all of our own making. How is it that someone in similar circumstances with … [Read more...]

What would you do if you knew you wouldn’t fail?

action

This is an important question in coaching circles and one we should probably use more often on ourselves when challenges or obstacles get in the way and threaten to halt our progress. The very act of asking the question really helps to focus your mind on what you want and on the goal ahead and helps to remove barriers and obstacles that are preventing you from moving forward (okay remove may be a bit of a stretch but at the least believe that they are not insurmountable). It can also be used as a check point with the real question being do you … [Read more...]

What’s your legacy?

It's a wonderful life message from Clarence

This was originally written in 2008 inspired by Daniel De Gale and his ACLT legacy a powerful inspiration for us all. I am republishing it as a gentle reminder for us in our daily routine that what we do today is our legacy for tomorrow and how one person really can make a difference. How powerful is your legacy? When a loved one, a friend or even a distant acquaintance dies the situation is supercharged with electrical energy that only death can bring. It is a powerful wake up call to all those closely touched by it and those left behind … [Read more...]
